A new look at a traditional medium
The film looks at the wide application of wood engravings today including
independent prints for exhibition, book illustration, fine art press and advertising.
Other contributors to the film include the author Philip Pullman CBE, FRSL,
Bankside Gallery and the Ashmolean Museum.
The main film is 45 minutes plus there are 10 × 10 minute conversations with ten featured artists: Neil Bousfield, Simon Brett, Harry Brockway, Chris Daunt, Anne Desmet, Edwina Ellis, John Lawrence, Peter Lawrence, Miriam Macgregor and Hilary Paynter

AGM and SWE Archive
The SWE AGM was held on 30th October 2010 at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford. This was preceded by the opening of the SWE Archive. To see some slides from the event, please click here.
The 2013 SWE AGM will be in Oxford on 14 September. Further details will be posted on this website and in later Newsletters and Multiples but please put the date in your diary.

It is now possible to pay the Society by using PAYPAL. You have to register with Paypal.com and then instruct Paypal to make a £ sterling payment to: woodengravers@hotmail.com
Paypal will charge your nominated credit card or account in your local currency.
We do not accept cheques denominated in currencies other than sterling. The costs of presenting them to the bank are prohibitive, and some are not accepted at all. This costs us a lot of money each year. Paypal is a simple and secure system for those who use the internet.
